Creative Seasonal Fine Dining Executive Chef

Our client, an award-winning beautifully-appointed restaurant in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, seeks a passionate Executive Chef to creatively steer their fine dining menu to truly seasonally-driven. The restaurant is already known for its deep relationships with Midwestern farmers and commitment to culinary excellence and is ready for a well-rounded leader to take the helm.

Candidates should have most or all of the following qualifications and attributes:

• Superior culinary skills rooted in classical technique

• Proven leadership skills to motivate staff to culinary and service excellence

• Passion for excellence and professionalism

• Stickler for kitchen organization and sanitation 

• Exemplary culinary financial skills to drive profitability and control costs (food and labor cost management, purchasing, inventory, menu engineering, etc.)

• Technical skills including POS System use and MS Office (especially Excel) 

• Excellent communication skills throughout the restaurant with respect for everyone

• Motivation to greet guests in the dining room and become part of the community

• Sensitivity and preparedness for accommodating guests with food allergies

• Passion for increasingly sustainable practices

• Farmer relationships a plus

• Butcher skills a plus

• Culinary degree not required (but a big plus)

• Excellent references
